Children in Need, Charter Hall, Colchester
As part of our contract with Charter Hall, we recently provided technical support for the east region's part of Children In Need.
Working alongside the BBC production team, we provided the in house technical team utilising all of Charter Hall's existing infrastructure - with additional lighting from our Robe Robin 300 LEDWash's and Robe LED 4ce7's, microphones, wedges, laptops and switching for the video content.
The event proved quite challenging, with the BBC event manager Lizzy Dickinson commenting; "It was very reassuring to know that you were across all these (venue logistics and technical) elements of the event and our requirements and that you were quite at home in understanding that some parts we simply could not plan until we were there, in the thick of it and were filming live TV. And we were not disappointed - all our last minute requests (and some of them were "last minute"!) were met with a cheery, unflappable no problem".
The main piece of the evening, featuring choirs from regions all over the country singing Avril Lavigne's "Keep Holding On", with a main choir in London. We were among the choirs featured on screens behind the London choir and although we were not broadcast at full screen like some of the other regions, the footage of the east's choir is available to view by clicking the link below.
